We are committed to safeguarding our environment. Below is a few of the ways Sid Valley is working to minimise harmful effects and maximise the beneficial influences our activities have on this breathtaking environment we are a part of:

Low energy light bulbs
We’ve installed low energy bulbs & fittings wherever we can & continue to up-date and renew to the best available products on the market....

Recycling

We compost like crazy and reduce purchases with excess packaging.....
Reduce, reuse, recycle – we reduce wastage to a minimum and recycle to the maximum. We will gladly accept all your recyclable waste and compost all kitchen and garden waste.

Floristry
Our cutting garden provides fresh flower and plant material for our in house florist and supply local shops with surplus produce.

Sustainable Tourism
We aim to provide sustainable tourism without reducing the quality of your stay...

Carbon Emissions.
We use the least amount of deliveries to help reduce our carbon footprint....

Buildings
At Sid Valley we use local trade persons & suppliers to both support the local community and reduce our effect on the environment...

Systems

Countryside
We have some unique visitors to the Sid Valley ~ nesting is allowed around the buildings encouraging the swallows and House Martins ~ Our Insect Hotel has been established for some years, insects and birds along with flower and fauna are all encouraged. We have two fields with paths cut into leading down to the river Sid which regularly has visible wildlife, which is a delight to view. The woodpecker, kingfisher, kestrel, Cuckoo, Owl, Roe Deer and lots more are here to marvel at... a photographer’s heaven...
We have lots of information on local environmental projects, coastal projects, guided walks and nature walks with links on our site to the 'Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty' web site.....
